Hello, I am Darkley and I want to be your best friend!

The title sums up Darkley well to be honest, don't think I need to write much more!

Hello and welcome to our blog, where I am going write about mine and Darkley's agility journey. I will start by telling you a bit about "Team Darkley".

So about four years ago now I rescued Darkley from the border collie trust and he was a big bundle of bounciness! He was around a year old at the time and he came flying out the kennels and cuddled me. Nothing much has changed as he really loves just about everyone and will try his hardest to cuddle everyone he meets. He is my first dog and therefore my first agility dog. After about a year of settling him in we tried agility for the first time and he took to it right away, it was me that needed the training!

A year or so later we started to go to shows and Darkley spent a lot of the time hugging the poor ring party or doing laps about the ring to say hello to everyone. We changed clubs around this time to Diamond Dogz and we slowly started to get a few clear rounds...then a few more...then a few places

This year I decided to focus on KC shows as I had mostly done independent shows up until the end of last year. I am so proud of him, we won out from grade 1 to grade 3. We got through to the semifinals of the starters cup at Kennel club festival and we are though to the agility club starters challenge next year!

This is from one amazing weekend!! He won both his agility and jumping two days running (making us grade 2) He won the team dash qualifier, qualified in the jump and twist pairs and came third in the rescue league final!

Darkley won four of his classes at the letchworth show in August putting him firmly in grade 3.

This a brief history of where we are at now. Here is a link if you want to see all our places, clears etc Darkley results. Its the end of the season and we have one day of a kc show left, our first grade 3 show then we are in to the "winter shows", winter training goals and a lot of rest for Mr D Dog.

Oh I am Mary by the way...you may see me running about waving my arms about looking like i am doing the YMCA next to darkley at a show!

Will leave you with a blurry video (youtube is being a pain!) of Darkleys jumping win at the letchworth show...we were working on his cloth tunnel exits and rear crosses

will update you all soon :)
